![]() I assume you can teamviewer onto your brothers laptop or something in order to do some remote diagnosis of network subnets. Other than that, more information is needed on the setup of the QNAP, and his network. If that's the case get your brother to cable direct to the QNAP, change his IP to a static one in the same range as what your network is, connect to the QNAP on the IP you set up and change the network IP to be one that's on his range, it's probably easier to let it do DHCP to be honest, and then log onto the router and set up a reservation, as its also possible you've configured it with an IP that is already in use on his network. It's possible one of you is on 192.168.0 and the other 192.168.1.0 or something like that. Easy way would be for yo both to do ipconfig from a command prompt in windows and see if you both are on the same subnet? Sounds like a cabling issue or a network configuration problem.ĭid you set the QNAP up with a static IP? My guess is your brothers router probably gives out a different IP range to the to what you configured the QNAP with. Open Qfinder Pro utility on you PC/Mac first, then use an USB cable connection between your PC/Mac USB port & NAS USB QuickAccess port (in the NAS front panel), the Qfinder Pro utility will automatically detect NAS device and ask Do you want to directly open the NAS folder message, click OK button. I've also looked at some relevant forum entries (can't see them all no doubt) but nothing seems to jump out as a viable solution.Īny ideas/solutions would be gratefully received. Its low monthly fee enables homes and small businesses to build a cost-effective and flexible video surveillance system. Automatically finds and displays all QNAP NAS, switches, and routers on the same network. I know almost nothing about AVG but nothing I seem to do nor any settings I can find/change allows the TS-212 to be seen. QVR Elite is the subscription-based network video recorder software for QNAP's QTS, QuTS hero, and QNE Network operating systems. Both my system and my brother's are Windows 10 and the TS-212 was updated by my system to 4.2.3 build 20170213 before I took it the 1500 or so miles between us.Īs far as I can establish the only major difference between my system and my brother's is that I use McAfee Virus Protection whilst he uses AVG for virus protection. I have reconfigured it on my system from Raid 0 which I had when it was on my network to Raid 1 (Reformatted drives etc) ready for my brother's network. Once it appeared in devices in Windows (I managed to get the IP address at that time and a ping gave the correct result) but it simply will not appear in QFinder nor in Explorer. The 4 disks ran in RAID-10 and were encrypted (I have the key, of course). ![]() All the signals (lights, beeping etc) from the T-212 are correct but QFinder does not even see it on the network. Hello - I'm new here, have a QNAP problem and hope for help Unfortunately, it seems my QNAP TS-431P is broken. I recently gave it to my brother & have tried to set it up on his network. I have a TS-212 (2 x 3TB drives) which has worked perfectly for years on my system (various PCs). ![]()
